In a new investment beyond the Greek borders, the Karatzis Group acquired a majority stake in the German company BSK & Lakufol Kunststoffe GmbH.
Based in Henfenfeld, Germany, the company specialises in the production of state-of-the-art silage multilayer films, and continuously improves its existing agricultural packaging, whilst also developing new products. Agra-stretch, Netfol, SILAPAC, SilaECO Power Net and SILAPRESS are among the agricultural products produced at the company’s facilities, while it also provides solutions for industrial packaging.
The addition of the production capacity of the BSK & Lakufol Kunststoffe industrial unit is expected to provide substantial benefits on a commercial level as it will create new conditions for the Group’s positioning in a wider range of product proposals.
Additionally, the Karatzis Group proceeded to another upgrade of its mechanical equipment by investing in the installation of a state-of-the-art extruder from Costruzioni Meccaniche Luigi Bandera SpA. The above investment adds 4,500 tons of production to the existing capacity of BSK & Lakufol Kunststoffe on an annual basis.
The above developments are part of the broader strategic planning to further strengthen the Group’s industrial and commercial presence in the international packaging market.
